Operating days and areas

Exclusively residential zones (low-rise and mid/high-rise)	Not allowed from Monday noon to Friday noon (except from noon on a public holiday to noon the next day). Also not allowed from December 31 noon to January 3 noon
All other areas	Up to 180 days a year

Under national law, the upper limit is 180 days a year.

Notice to neighbors before starting

• At least 7 days before filing the notification, explain in writing and submit documents showing that the explanation was given

Where to file and consult

Adachi Public Health Center, Environmental Sanitation Division (足立保健所 生活衛生課); book advance consultations by phone. Business waste must be discussed with the city at least 3 weeks in advance. Procedures and required documents can change, so check the latest guidance from the office. A fire safety compliance certificate (消防法令適合通知書) from the fire station is also required.
